A Collaborative Sprint on Historical Datasets
From 25 to 27 June 2025, a true research sprint took place at EPFL in Lausanne, centered on the rich historical datasets produced as part of Parcels of Venice projects. Students and early-career researchers from a variety of backgrounds and disciplines came together to explore the vast potential of structured data on the city of Venice.

Spotlight on Collaboration with Europeana
The EPFL Parcels of Venice team is currently developing and testing an AI-driven pipeline for the automatic geolocation and temporal alignment of historical postcards. This work is being carried out within the Time Atlas interface, with the goal of enriching the original Europeana data collection by associating each postcard with precise spatial and temporal metadata.
